The US Grant Bicentennial website was developed by Erik and Lindsay Curren, American history buffs who run a marketing agency in Staunton, VA.
Erik is a book author who is currently working on a fact-based but short and readable biography of Ulysses S. Grant, with special emphasis on his role as a champion of civil rights. Erik is a member of the Grant Monument Association and the Sons of the Union Veterans of the Civil War.
Lindsay is a writer who also runs a business selling fabric and textiles, many featuring historic designs including looks from the Civil War era. She is a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
We’re both into living history and historic costuming, and we are now developing living history interpretations of Ulysses and Julia Dent Grant. Photos below!

Not associated with any official group running a bicentennial celebration of Ulysses S. Grant, this site is our homage to one of the greatest and yet most misunderstood leaders in American history.
We hope to do our part to support the efforts of historic sites, presidential archives, and Grant interpreters to make better known the life, accomplishments, and significance of President Grant and his wife Julia Dent Grant.
